New Pallets

Sometimes a load demands a brand-new pallet: pharma, food-grade, export, or automated handling with zero tolerance for variance. We source new wood the responsible way and build to your exact spec.

The short answer

When recycled won't meet spec, we build and supply new pallets from responsibly sourced lumber — standard 48×40 GMA or fully custom. Heat treatment to ISPM-15 is available for international shipments.

Heat-treated and stamped to ISPM-15 for international freight — no bark, no fumigation.

Spec to the sixteenth

Deck configuration, board count, chamfer, notch, lead-board thickness — you name it.

Responsibly sourced

We buy from regional mills practicing replanting and low-waste cutting.

Where it fits

Common use cases

If your application isn't listed, ask anyway — odds are we've done it.

  • Export and international freight
  • Food-grade and pharmaceutical handling
  • Automated storage & retrieval systems (AS/RS)
  • Pool / rental program seeding
  • High-value or fragile cargo
  • Customer-facing retail displays and drop shipments
  • Clean-room, cosmetics, and medical device shipping
  • New-contract loads with strict pallet-appearance specs

New doesn't have to mean wasteful

We treat new pallets as a considered choice, not a default. When a customer asks for new, we first check whether a Grade A recycled unit meets the real requirement — it usually does, for less money and less impact.

When new is genuinely required, we source from regional mills that replant and mill efficiently, and we design for a long service life so the pallet cycles back into our recycled stream for years to come.

That's the Cincinnati Pallet way: even a brand-new pallet is bought with its whole life in mind. Build it well, use it hard, then reuse, repair, and reclaim it. Wood that refuses to retire.

Construction styles and specs

New builds let you pin down every variable a recycled unit leaves to chance. Choose stringer or block construction, deck-board count and spacing, entry type, and lumber species to match your handling equipment and load.

Stringer pallets are economical and strong for most freight; block pallets give true four-way entry and take pallet-jack access from any side, which matters for automated lines and tight-aisle warehouses.

  • Stringer construction — three stringers, two-way or notched four-way entry
  • Block construction — nine blocks, true four-way entry for AS/RS and jacks
  • Standard 48×40 GMA or fully custom footprints
  • Deck configurations: 7-board top, flush or overhang, chamfered leadboards
  • Lumber: hardwood (oak) for strength, SPF softwood for lighter one-way loads
  • Load ratings engineered for your static, dynamic, and racking requirements

Export compliance and ISPM-15

International freight on solid-wood packaging must meet ISPM-15. We supply new pallets heat-treated (HT) — kiln-heated to a 56°C core for at least 30 minutes — and stamped with the recognized mark. No chemical fumigation, no bark, no customs surprises.

If you're shipping overseas for the first time, tell us the destination and the load and we'll make sure the pallet and its stamp will clear at the other end.

Good questions

New Pallets FAQ

Do you offer heat-treated pallets for export?

Yes. We supply ISPM-15 compliant, heat-treated (HT) pallets with the proper stamp for international shipments — kiln-treated to a 56°C core for 30 minutes, no fumigation.

Can you build a non-standard size new?

Absolutely — new builds are the easiest place to hit an exact footprint. Send drawings or dimensions with your quote and we'll spec it.

When is a new pallet worth it over recycled?

When the spec genuinely requires it: export, food/pharma contact-adjacent loads, automated handling with zero tolerance for variance, or customer-facing appearance. For most internal and domestic freight, a Grade A recycled unit does the same job for less.

Block or stringer — which should I order?

Stringer is the economical default and handles most freight. Choose block if you need true four-way entry, pallet-jack access from any side, or you're feeding an automated / AS/RS line.

How responsibly sourced is the lumber?

We buy new lumber from regional mills that replant and cut with low waste. We also design new pallets for a long service life so they re-enter our recycled stream rather than becoming waste.

What lead time should I expect on new pallets?

It depends on size, spec, and quantity. Standard 48×40 GMA moves fastest; custom specs and export treatment add time. Email us the details and we'll give you a realistic build-and-deliver window.

Can I get a load rating for my new pallets?

Yes. Tell us the weight, whether it's a static, dynamic (moving), or racking load, and how it's supported, and we'll engineer the deck, stringers, and fasteners to suit.
